Openings & Announcements

Central Texas barbecue has arrived in Clintonville thanks to chef Brad Harkrider, aka Hank. Harkrider’s new venture, Hank’s Texas BBQ, opens Wednesday, May 12, at 2941 N. High St., replacing Old Skool. The chef-owner, a Texas native, was previously executive chef at J. Liu Restaurant & Bar. The menu features starters such as fried green tomatoes, brisket nachos and corn cakes. Meat options include brisket, ribs, pulled pork, smoked chicken and sausage. Cocktails, beer and wine will also be available. You can check out the menu here

Urban Chophouse, Chris Corso’s latest restaurant concept in partnership with former Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer, is set to open May 12 at 1079 N. High St. in the Short North. The Urban Chophouse menu promises steaks and seafood entrees, as well as sushi, a raw bar and craft cocktails. The steakhouse and lounge is part of the luxury apartment building Luxe 23. Corso’s other two venues inside Luxe 23 include Whiskey Lounge and Terrace Bar, which will open the same day and feature food options from the steakhouse and a lighter-fare menu specifically designed for Terrace Bar. Corso and Meyer previously partnered in September 2019 to open Urban’s Pint House located in Dublin’s Bridge Park. It’s unclear how often Meyer will hold court at his namesake steakhouse, having recently joined the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars as head coach.
