The two federal agencies overseeing the sector include the USDA, which has faced criticism from Congress for how it secures its own data. Big Boy is returning to Wisconsin after a 26-year absence.

Wisconsin Big Boy is scheduled to open July 14 at Germantown’s Jerry’s Old Town Inn, N116-W15841 Main St., owner Chaz Hastings said.  

Hastings said he and his business partner, Scott Carleton, signed a franchise deal June 3 giving them franchise rights for Wisconsin.

Jerry’s Old Town Inn closed about three weeks ago. Hastings said he and Carleton owned the restaurant for 10 years.

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond native Chef Steve Glenn, Jr. has been in the kitchen since he was 10 years old. At just 23, that’s more than half his life.

“My grandma got me in here doing hard labor — peeling potatoes, cleaning collard greens, stuff like that. So yeah, I got an early start,” Glenn said. “I saw how my grandma used to take raw stuff and change them into something amazing. I was like, ‘Oh yeah. I’m going to figure out how to do that.’”

She said Fresco had relatively good sales last summer due to its large outdoor area. Food Fight decided to close Fresco over the winter because the Overture Center wasn’t holding performances and the restaurant’s reduced indoor capacity at the time was 17.

Public Health Madison and Dane County’s COVID-19 restrictions expired Wednesday with no new orders replacing them, meaning all local restrictions on the size of gatherings and the county’s mask mandate were eliminated.

A Upstate restaurant closed its doors after 36 years in business Sunday. Tommy’s Country Ham House in Greenville served its final menu during what the owner, Tommy Stevenson, called the busiest day in his restaurant’s history. Stevenson announced plans to retire earlier this year. “When we built this restaurant, we built it wide open where families (and) people can meet each other and it’s worked out,” said Stevenson.
