Measure for Measure

The Multo comes with its own custom tablet, which you use to select recipes and control the machine. The Multo base has an on/off switch on the back and a glorified start/stop button on the front, and that’s it. I like the way using the tablet keeps you from using an app on your phone, where you might get distracted by messages and notifications, but it drives me crazy when you can’t control a kitchen appliance by pressing buttons on the appliance itself. It also felt unsafe to be able to control a machine with whirling blades

The smoked salmon ($16) was a huge portion of smoked salmon dip, beautifully served with cucumber, red pepper and a homemade rye baguette. It was good, without being overly rich or creamy.

The hummus plate features basic hummus with a beautiful selection of vegetables.

The plate also came with radish and kohlrabi, not mentioned on the menu. Union spokesperson Shauna Breneman said the restaurant gets its produce from Parrfection Produce Farm Market in Monticello, so the vegetables can vary week to week.

The hummus ($12) was a similar plate, with another great selection

Cooking is a joy for some; everyone else doesn’t have the time, or the confidence in their skill, or is just a devout reader of The I Hate To Cook Book (first published more than 60 years ago!). CookingPal targets the latter crowd who wants something better-tasting and more nutritious than frozen entrees or fast food, and that’s less expensive than prepared meal or restaurant delivery.

The Multo mostly automatically handles all the meal-prep steps—it can weigh, chop, grind, whip, knead, and mix your ingredients—and then it cooks your food—either in the same bowl, in a simmering basket that fits

The Regulator is delicious. It tastes like a beer mimosa with a hint of mango. The serving size is big, with a hard plastic cup you can reuse. You cannot taste the alcohol at all (if that’s good or bad is up to you). If you don’t like boba, you

On the chapa, we cooked salmon dusted with Scott’s rib rub on an uncovered foil sling, set fat dollops of honey butter on top of it, and watched smoke reach over the top of the griddle to flavor the fish.

We also riffed on Scott’s grilled vegetable salad, grilling carrots, sweet potatoes, and a few other veggies which had been given a coating of rib rub.

Then we ate exceedingly well. The surprise star of the day was Scott’s apple hand pies, where a pre-baked filling of apple chunks, lemon juice, dark brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt is nestled

(CNN) —

Before we get into everything that Omsom delivers, I want to state clearly: This is one of the best cooking products I’ve ever tested. A bold claim, I know, but thanks to Omsom — a sauce kit that makes cooking with incredible Asian flavors uncomplicated to newbs — I’ve become more comfortable throwing together recipes I’ve never tried before, and I’ve even expanded my pantry to include things like fish and oyster sauce. (This by no means deserves any congratulatory praise; I should have invested in these condiments a lot sooner. Still, I’m grateful that Omsom was able
