A woman was injured in a cooking fire in Middletown Township Wednesday evening.

A pot of oil being used to cook French fries caught fire around 7 p.m. at a home on Katie Drive. The fire spread in the kitchen and the woman was able to take the burning pot outside, according to authorities.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening burns to her arm and singed hair. The woman was taken by the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad to St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne-Middletown Fire Company Chief Frank Farry said.
