A new case of suspected food poisoning at a major fast-food chain is being investigated in Illinois. According to the latest reports, several customers have fallen ill after eating at a Jimmy John’s location in Bloomington.

Food Safety News reports that there have been at least 16 cases of illness, 15 of which were student athletes from Illinois State University’s lacrosse team. According to iwaspoisoned.com, a website used for reporting cases of food poisoning, several of them required hospital treatment for fluid replacement because of severe vomiting and diarrhea.

Globally Local is to become the world’s first vegan fast-food chain to go public. 

The company, which aims to have 20 locations across North America by 2022, will debut on the Toronto Stock Exchange’s Venture Exchange tomorrow.

Founded in 2016, Globally Local serves a range of American favorites such as burgers, chicken, salad, wraps, desserts, and shakes.

It also produces its own proteins and dairy alternatives, to achieve price parity with its non-vegan fast-food competitors.

Globally Local says this helps ‘eliminate the perception that vegan food is expensive’.

Almost 25 people have reported symptoms of food poisoning after receiving food from or visiting one Subway location in Idaho, according to the Southwest District Health (SWDH).

Individuals who reported symptoms visited the fast-food sandwich restaurant in Caldwell between March 16 and March 19. SWDH determined that the store was following all advice and guidelines after an inspection.
