Glenmorangie recently announced the release of X by Glenmorangie, a single malt Scotch whisky specifically created for mixed drinks.

The new release was created from a combination of whiskies aged in bourbon casks, with some finished in new char oak casks, allowing for what’s described by the brand as sweet flavors, including pear, vanilla, honeysuckle, orange sherbet and chocolate fudge.

“X by Glenmorangie came from our dream of creating even more flavor possibilities, with a single malt that’s made to mix. Consulting with top bartenders, we crafted this sweeter, richer single malt for all those enjoying mixing at home,”

Last Saturday, Twitter was set ablaze by a photo of an utterly ridiculous Starbucks order by a gentleman named “Edward,” though we cannot be positive is his real name. I know if I ordered a drink like this, I would definitely use a pseudonym as to not die from embarrassment, and also to keep my name out of the mouth of the poor barista who was forced to make it, as they would have every right to put an curse on me and my household. Lest you think no order could warrant the evil eye, you may want to sit

The Kraken moved quickly Friday to head off a legal dispute with a University District punk-rock bar alleging trademark infringement and tortious interference in a $3.5 million lawsuit filed the previous day.

A statement by the NHL expansion team Friday night said it is dropping the name Kraken Bar & Grill from a restaurant planned for its $80 million Northgate Mall training facility opening in September. “When we were made aware of the objection to the name, we started making plans to rebrand the future bar and grill,’’ Lance Lopes, the team’s executive vice president

TUPELO • The Mississippi State Department of Health announced on Thursday that it will close all 81 of its Women, Infants and Children (WIC) food distribution sites throughout the state, which serve around 85,000 Mississippians enrolled in the program, in the months ahead.

Approximately 70 positions will be eliminated as a result of the closures.

“This comes as WIC clients throughout the nation are being transferred to the use of electronic banking and a debit card for food purchases due to a federal mandate,” MSDH said in a statement, Thursday.

The plan was announced in 2019 and was originally planned

Who’s ready for more burgers?

Shake Shack, one of the world’s best-known burger brands, will open its first Oregon restaurant in Beaverton on Friday, April 16, the company announced Wednesday.

Until now, the company had kept silent about its Portland-area expansion plans. But news has trickled out. In December, the company’s proposal to turn a former vitamin store across from Powell’s City of Books was approved by the Portland’s Bureau of Development Services.

But that downtown location, with its proposed patio, bicycle parking and outdoor ping-pong table, was not to be Oregon’s first. As first reported by The Oregonian/OregonLive.com,
