Adolfo Melendez, owner of Tex-Mex restaurant El Mezcal in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, has bought more than $2,000 in gift cards to restaurants in his community to raffle off to his customers.
“If you help one person and another person helps another, that will help a lot,” he told CNN affiliate WKOW.

“There’s probably 35% of the restaurants that keep struggling a lot here,” Melendez told CNN.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — After a west valley restaurant was robbed and ransacked this week, the owner wants the community’s help finding those responsible. 

“When I came in,” Steven Roy, owner of Steve’s Pig Pikins BBQ said. “My front door was smashed.”

Roy recounted the moment he found his restaurant torn to pieces, sharing the story with 8 News Now Thursday.

As a deadly winter storm caused major power outages in Texas this week, a restaurant in Plano helped people in its community struggling in the cold.

Bella Italia Ristorante lost power, but still had gas for cooking. So while the restaurant was closed for business, owner Ari Isufaj decided to open the kitchen to prepare free meals of lasagna or spaghetti for anyone in need of a bite to eat.

“We couldn’t sit back and do nothing when our community is hurting,” the restaurant wrote in a Facebook post.
